Shelves lined with a packaged
To rouse or sooth the savaged beast
All strapped in tight awaiting a thrill

Slips away within the amplified sounds
Places all anxieties in the background
Blocks out the rest of humanity for a Sonic Remedy
Seals all the cracks and turns up the stereo

No antenna transmitting sessions of rehabilitation
It’s a self-prescribed soundtrack fixation
Doses of escape ingredients and mixtures to pave
The way for the sound waves

Adjust the gage on option control
All equalized and ready to roll
Stereophonic grooves expressing present attitudes
Set to fade out through a rippling port-hole

Daybreak shines right in my eyes
With Father time no compromise
Don’t want to get up and start the day
Not looking forward to this bitter masquerade

Weekend hibernation’s overdue
Why does class have to start so soon
Sick of fixing on caffeine
Glassy eyes, constant shaking

My mind is stuck on a blank stare
My equilibrium’s impaired
Stayed up too late the night before
Wish that I could sleep some more

Alien Woman

I can’t believe
A woman so rare
When I am with her
We phase out into thin air
I’ll always remember
That night lying in bed
The crash on my roof
And the bruise on my head

After all the confusion
And all the smoke cleared
An extra-terrestrial being appeared
I must admit
It was love at first sight
Bright glowing skin
And big oval shaped eyes

Code Blue

Like a nervous habit it’s out of my control
Made a conscious effort but couldn’t break the mold
Set a trend and sealed it with what used to be
Crumpled thoughts in a waste basket of memories

Can’t crack the code

Rummaged through these souvenirs from my mind
Searching for clues, hidden messages in disguise
Flipped on the switch that activated the loudspeaker
Strained to hear a fading signal become weaker

Gazed into the pattern so mysterious
A twisted Rubik’s flavored delirious
Distortion was switched on overload
Faced with another sparked fuse light show

Skipped the beat, ended the flow
A mixed signal scenario
Spun the dial with high hopes
But I just can’t crack the code

Started from scratch with hopes of finding a way out
A means of escape, determined to reroute
Took a different path, but ended up in the same place
A continuous cycle of ground retraced
